Description
A reputable hospital in Long Beach is currently seeking an experienced Release of Information (ROI) Specialist for the Medical Records Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in ROI and medical records to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Perform complex tasks involving the release of confidential patient information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Promptly review and respond to written and phone requests from attorneys, courts, law enforcement agencies, government institutions, insurance companies, physicians, healthcare facilities, and patients along with their families.
Handle and document received requests responsibly.
Ensure the timely response and release of patient information in electronic formats.
Maintain accurate records of these requests to evidence compliance with federal Meaningful Use requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proven experience working with ROI and Medical Records
Knowledge of confidentiality rules and guidelines related to patient information.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to carefully handle sensitive information while ensuring compliance with confidentiality laws.
Capacity to quickly respond to requests and maintain organized records.
