Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Longwood, Florida
Description
We are in the process of recruiting an Bilingual Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our construction team based in Longwood, Florida. The primary role of this position is to oversee the Accounts Payable staff and manage various accounting tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee Accounts Payable staff, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of payments
• Handle weekly labor payments and bi-weekly payments to suppliers
• Process monthly credit card transactions and supplier rebates
• Conduct timely monthly closings, including account reconciliations, job cost analysis, journal entries, and intercompany transactions
• Assist with preparations for audits, including workers’ compensation and external audits
• Provide ongoing training and mentoring to the accounting staff, identifying areas for improvement in current processes
• Manage special projects as required
• Utilize QuickBooks for accounting functions and processes
• Utilize Spanish language skills as needed for customer service and communication.

Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction/contractor industry
• Proficiency in managing both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks for various accounting functions
• Fluency in Spanish language
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles
• Proven experience in managing a team in a supervisory role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy in work
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
