To succeed in this role, you will need to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. The ideal candidate for this position can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. Your responsibilities
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
CPA/MBA preferred
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
NetSuite experience
Knowledge of month end closings
Deep understanding of general ledger
Job Cost experience desired
Foundational knowledge in Construction Accounting
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
