Robert Half is working with a non-profit based in the West Los Angeles Area: They are a mission-driven nonprofit organization based in West Los Angeles, committed to making a positive impact in the community. As they continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist with strong NetSuite experience to join their dynamic finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a cause you believe in while utilizing your expertise in accounts payable and ERP systems. This position is based on site in West LA.
Position Overview:
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor relationships. This role requires hands-on experience with NetSuite to streamline A/P functions, ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and support the smooth financial operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing: Review, code, and enter invoices into NetSuite, ensuring proper approval and matching with purchase orders and receipts.
Payment Processing: Prepare and process weekly A/P runs, ensuring timely payment to vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring accurate records and resolving any discrepancies or issues related to payments or billing.
Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger in NetSuite.
Expense Reports: Review employee expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with organizational policies.
Compliance & Reporting: Assist in preparing A/P-related reports for management, audits, and financial reviews, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulations.
NetSuite Utilization: Leverage NetSuite to automate processes, improve workflows, and assist with the integration of new systems or upgrades.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within A/P functions, recommend solutions, and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
NetSuite Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP system, including A/P modules, reporting, and workflow automation.
Accounting Knowledge: Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles, fund accounting, and best practices.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payments, reconciling accounts, and managing financial data.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
Organization & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and experience using cloud-based accounting tools.
