Description

We are a dynamic real estate firm based in West Los Angeles seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial to maintaining the financial health of the company by managing incoming payments, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate records of transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience in real estate or property management accounting, a strong understanding of receivables processes, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Incoming Payments: Accurately post and reconcile payments from tenants, buyers, and other clients.

  • Manage Accounts: Track accounts receivable balances, send out invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.

  • Collections: Proactively manage and reduce aged receivables, working closely with clients to resolve payment issues and set up payment plans if necessary.

  • Reporting: Prepare regular accounts receivable reports for management, including aging reports and cash forecasts.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding billing questions, disputes, and payment plans.

  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the property management and accounting departments to ensure accurate tenant and client billing.

  • Assist with Audits: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding receivables.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in accounts receivable, ideally within the real estate or property management industry.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required.

  • Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with real estate accounting principles, lease agreements, and property management processes is a plus.
