Description
Hybrid Robert Half is looking for candidates who want to have broad business engagement and impact, for an open Controller position. The position's duties include managing the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verifying and holding the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively. The Controller position is a short-term contract / temporary to hire engagement located in Los Angeles, California. What you get to do every single day
Assemble evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs to support SOX controls
Review and monitor that controls are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance
Ensure timely cash flow forecasts by collaboration with the Treasury
Reach understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
Manage all processes and tools for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting accountable programs
Attain a thorough understanding of essential financial results and movements across programs, then be able to summarize and discuss them with key business partners
Perpetual reviewing of actual spend against budget, as well as leading necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls
Engage with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities like maintaining accuracy of accrual models, appropriate accounting, and participating in true-up activities. Also answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers
Requirements - Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, strong analytical and communication skills as well
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
- CPA and/or CMA preferred
Previous experience working with financial planning
Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Statement
Foundational knowledge in Analyze Financial Statements
Comprehensive knowledge of 3C
Earlier work involving cash forecasting
Background working with forecasting
Practical knowledge of Review Financial Statements
General familiarity with Prepare Financial Statements
Financial modeling experience highly preferred
Deep understanding of general ledger
Adeptness in Audited Financial Statements
Consolidated Financial Statements experience highly desired
Good understanding of Internal Control
GAAP Accounting experience required
7+ years professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance
Aptitude for communication and negotiation, building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers
Implement and improve changes in procedures immediately
Working knowledge of ERP system
Prior background in engaging virtually with teams around the globe and providing leadership across finance teams
Advanced knowledge in office and accounting computer systems
