Description In this Controller role, you will utilize your problem solving skills by taking initiative to identity and resolve problems. The Controller role will report to the VP of Finance and supervise accounting staff. This full-time employment opportunity is based in the Los Angeles, California area. What you get to do every single day

  • Supplementary duties as assigned

  • Direct to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment

  • Help lead the accounting team during the closing process to ensure deadlines are met

  • Prepare a variety of technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures

  • Test and produce Ad Hoc financial reports

  • Produce relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and the monthly flash report

  • Aid with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

  • Promote accountability and the meeting of deliverables

  • Endorse implementation and confirm adherence to accounting policies and procedures

  • Assure regular account reconciliation to completion

  • Backfill for Controller as necessary

  • Identify and develop process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

  • Forward-thinking preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

  • Complete understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • CPA a plus

  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards

  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Analyze Financial Statements experience

  • Wide ranging experience with Bank Account Reconciliation

  • Practical knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Manufacturing Cost Accounting experience preferred

  • Strong familiarity with Manufacturing Company

  • Proven knowledge of Annual Financial Reporting

  • Quality experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation

  • Well-founded grasp of Prepare Trial Balance

  • General familiarity with Prepare Trial Balance

  • Solid understanding of SOX

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
