Robert Half Director of ECE and Head Start in Los Angeles, California


JOB PURPOSE: Under general supervision, the Early Education/Early Head Start and Alternative Payment Programs Director is responsible for assuring that all the programs mandates and standards for excellence are met on a daily basis. This position is responsible for the overall structure, systems and procedures to facilitate program excellence in addition to operating responsibility for the fiscal, legal, and programmatic aspects of the programs. The Early

Education/EHS and Alternative Payment Director will provide the program leadership, and ensure functions are properly implemented.

SUPERVISEE(S): (1) Education Director, (5) Site Supervisors, (1) CDE AP Manager, (1) El-IS Supervisor/Floating Site Supervisor


Perform supervision of supervisees and conduct the business of Drew CDC in accordance with Drew CDC's Employee Handbook.

Manage the EHS/ECE and AP programs to achieve the expected program outcome, output, and annual budget target (100% of target); internal and external audits without findings; maintain staff retention and workforce at the expected level to achieve the program targets.

Provide quarterly reports of the number of children and families served, demographics, staff training schedules, number of families on the waiting list(s), and staffing roster.

Manage the EHS/ECE and AP program services in compliance with the requirements as outlined in Title 5 & 22, CA Department of Social Services (CDSS) regulations, Education Code: Section 8350, and EHS Performance Standards.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.


Master's Degree in Education or related field with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development and special education, with a minimum of seven (7) years' experience in a senior level management and administrative role within the non-profit, public administration sector, or educational institution.

Minimum of seven (7) years' experience working with children birth to 21 years old. Expert knowledge of Title 5, 22, CDSS regulations, Education Code: Section 8350, and Head Start Regulations.

Program for Infant/Toddler Care Certification required.
