Growing high-end boutique law firm with former Big FIRM refugees is seeking a highly skilled Employment Defense Attorney with a minimum of five years of experience. This Employment Defense Attorney role involves working with partnership teams on complex cases, managing cases from start to finish, and representing Fortune 500 companies. The position requires an individual who is proficient in case management software, legal software, LexisNexis, employment law, and can effectively manage a variety of tasks while adhering to the highest standards of the profession.

The firm is offering this attorney autonomy, low billables at 1600 and the opportunity to work on complex matters. We have placed attorneys and staff with this firm who love it!

Responsibilities:

• Work on large complex cases in collaboration with the partnership team, primarily handling discovery and legal research.

• Manage cases from beginning to end, including depositions, discovery, law & motion practice, and court appearances.

• Represent Fortune 500 companies, ensuring their legal interests are adequately protected.

• Utilize case management software and legal software to maintain organized and accurate records.

• Conduct thorough and detailed legal research using tools such as LexisNexis.

• Prepare and review legal documentation, ensuring all details are correct and in compliance with legal standards.

• Apply knowledge of employment law to advise and represent clients effectively.

• Ensure all tasks and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with professional legal standards and ethics.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior associates within the team.

• Maintain an active license to practice law in the state of California.

Requirements

• Possess a professional law degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the California State Bar

• Minimum experience of 5 years in the legal field, preferably in employment defense

• Proficiency in legal software such as Case Management Software and LexisNexis

• Familiarity with management systems and their application in a legal context

• Proven expertise in briefing and documentation

• Strong understanding and experience in Employment Law - Employer

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgement calls

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
