Job Information
Robert Half Instructional Systems Designer in Los Angeles, California
Description
Robert Half is seeking an instructional designer to help with the launch of multiple training instructions for our client. The Instructional designer should have the ability to manage different projects at once. This instructional designer should be able to efficiently produce content quickly, conduct meetings with SME’s (subject matter experts), process the information and design management/financial content for hospital managers, regional operational directors, and financial specialists.
Job Overview:
There will be two check-in/status meetings per week.
The Instructional Designer will provide daily updates in terms of tasks and keep aligned with the project lead (working in Smartsheet for the PM tool).
Once the Instructional Designer is ramped up to move into the client's content, the Instructional Designer will be provided structured templates within Rise and Storyline; though there are templates that can be used, the client wants creativity to make content more visually appealing.
Once dialed into the client's content, the instructional designer will start working on modules or topics and will have introductions to SME’s.
This individual Instructional Designer will need to initiate SME calls, answer questions on source content to build out and design for that topic; after which, you will meet/check-in with your director and the project lead to verify and confirm the direction and materials needed and align on project scope.
Once the courses are ready, they will go to your director for review and to the VP for final sign off.
Requirements
Must Haves:
Ability to self-manage (manage a project with timelines and move quickly)
5+ years of Instructional Design experience (specifically with managing large scale deliverables of entire programs. not just a single course or topic)
Articulate 360 suite (specifically Storyline and Rise)
Best if you have your own, otherwise a license can be provided (just takes time to go through IT for approval)
Excellent communication skills, voice concerns, process information from SME and share what they’ve learned in order to identify what’s working well and identify any possible risks early on
Preferred Skills:
*Adobe Creative Suite expertise to create more advanced visuals
*Vyond is the software used for animation (if you can animate from scratch via HTML even better!)
