Description We are seeking a Medical Records Clerk for a short term contract employment opportunity in our mental health clinic located in Los Angeles, California. This role emphasizes on the accurate and confidential management of patient medical records. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient organization of patient information, ensuring regulatory standards are met, and aiding in the smooth functioning of administrative tasks within the clinic.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process, maintain, and update patient records in line with clinic protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure systematic record-keeping practices by organizing, filing, and retrieving medical records.
• Verify the completeness of patient details including medical history, diagnoses, treatments, and medications.
• Facilitate requests for medical records from both within the clinic and external entities, adhering to proper authorization and privacy regulations.
• Assist healthcare providers and administrative staff in accessing necessary patient information for treatment and administrative purposes.
• Uphold the security and privacy of all patient records, in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and other legal prerequisites for protecting sensitive medical information.
• Oversee the transfer of medical records to other healthcare providers or organizations when necessary, maintaining a comprehensive and accurate record of all transactions.
• Collaborate with the administrative team to enhance record-keeping processes, simplify documentation, and efficiently implement electronic medical record systems.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on relevant changes in laws, regulations, and technologies related to medical record management. Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role as a Medical Records Clerk.
• Proficiency in managing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is a prerequisite for this position.
• Familiarity with EMR - Electronic Medical Records is required.
• Experience in handling and maintaining Medical Records is essential.
• The candidate should have skills in Medical Records Analysis.
• Prior experience in Medical Records Review is necessary.
• The role demands experience in managing OutPatient Medical Records.
• The applicant should be experienced in handling Patient Medical Records.
