Mike Cox (Mike.Cox@roberthalf.com) with Robert Half is currently recruiting a newly created Senior Accountant to support a growing entertainment company who are based in Westwood (Los Angeles).

The Senior Accountant has been newly created to add values all areas of the accounting department. They are ideally looking for someone who can assist in growing the business and will assist with some broad areas of responsibilities. The Senior Accountant will report to the SVP, Finance and will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of the month end accounts, financial and variance analysis, supporting the audit process as well as streamlining internal processes and controls. You will ideally have experience of the Entertainment/Production industry and an advanced experience of Microsoft Excel.

The Senior Accountant will be assigned special projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience in accounting (or Audit) with their Bachelor's Degree.

Salary is around the $85-95,000 + Bonus and benefits.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Great attention to detail

  • Exceptional time management skills preferred

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

  • Solid understanding of Entertainment Companies

  • Deep understanding of Monthly Variance Analysis

  • Financial statement preparation experience preferred

  • Financial analysis experience

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
