Description

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong Senior Accountant to support our rapidly growing residential real estate client on a 4–6-month on-site project starting immediately in West Los Angeles. The Sr. Accountant will assist with the oversight of our client's financial operations, ensure accuracy in reporting, and provide strategic insights to drive financial efficiency and growth. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with extensive accounting experience, a strong grasp of real estate financial practices, and exceptional analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with management to identify key financial metrics and performance indicators.

  • General Ledger Management: Using Yardi, manage the general ledger system, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis, variance analysis, and performance evaluation to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

  • Tax Compliance: Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of tax filings, including income tax returns, property tax assessments, and sales tax reporting.

  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.

  • Audit Support: Serve as a liaison for external auditors during annual audits, providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed.

  • Real Estate Transactions: Participate in real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing activities, providing financial analysis and due diligence support as required.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably as a Sr. Accountant.

  • Demonstrated skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

  • Proficient in managing General Ledger and Journal Entries.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.

  • Experience in performing Month End Close procedures.

  • Familiarity with Yardi software is a significant advantage.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
