Description

We are looking for a diligent and experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. This role involves preparing timely financial statements, adhering to established accounting policies, and coordinating client requests. This position is part of the real estate industry and offers a long-term contract. (This role is hybrid.)

Responsibilities:

• Accurate input of data provided by Property Managers.

• Reviewing all leases and related accounting lease abstract forms.

• Approving Accounts Receivable, including billing adjustments, security deposit refunds, etc.

• Reviewing and approving Accounts Payable vendor invoices for property number, coding, description, and approvals.

• Reviewing rental edits (scheduled charges) and inputting budgets.

• Ensuring monthly mortgage, land lease, or other recurring monthly payments are processed timely.

• Preparing and entering journal entries – standard, recurring, reversing, adjusting, reclassing, prepaid rent, accruals, etc.

• Maintaining cash balances as directed by portfolio controller or accounting manager.

• Preparing secondary excel or word reporting schedules for depreciation, amortization, security deposits, loan schedules, and balance sheet schedules.

• Assisting in the review, analysis, and collection of corporate accounts receivable.

• Complying with all policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required.

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries.

• Must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is essential.

• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Yardi (or MRI) is required.

• Must have experience in Property Accounting.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.

• Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.

• Must be authorized to work in the country of employment.
