To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role will involve internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Located in the Los Angeles, California area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Key responsibilities
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Requirements - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
General ledger experience desired
Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Skilled with ERP systems
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
