Robert Half International Staff Accountant in Los Angeles, California
Description There's currently a long-term contract / temporary to hire position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with Robert Half in the Amusement/Recreation Ser/Entertainment industry. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. What you get to do every day
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Partake in annual closing processes
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Well-founded grasp of Aging Reports
Journal entries experience preferred
Proven knowledge of bank reconciliations
Solid understanding of general ledger
Foundational knowledge in account reconciliation
Month end closings experience
Credit Card Reconciliation experience highly desired
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Efficient in ERP systems
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
