Robert Half Systems Engineer in Los Angeles, California
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Systems Engineer in the non-profit industry, located in Los Angeles, California. The primary role of the Systems Engineer will be to ensure the high availability, reliability, and security of our Windows Servers, VMware virtualization, and datastores.
Responsibilities:
• Administering and maintaining a Microsoft Windows Domain environment with various services such as DFRS, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, IIS, Certificate Services, Federation Services, and others.
• Managing a VCenter running on a clustered HP server with multiple VMs.
• Overseeing the administration of Office 365, Entra ID, and on-prem active directory infrastructure.
• Monitoring all critical systems using various monitoring tools and responding to incidents in a timely manner.
• Designing and implementing complex systems that align with organizational goals.
• Automating IT tasks through the use of Microsoft PowerShell tools and scripts.
• Configuring systems in line with industry and manufacturer best practices.
• Performing system upgrades and patching to reduce security vulnerabilities.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date infrastructure documentation and knowledge base.
• Providing Tier-2 support to the agency's helpdesk and security teams.
• Undertaking other duties as assigned. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Systems Engineer
• Extensive knowledge of Cisco Technologies
• Proficiency in utilizing Citrix Technologies
• Experience with Cloud Technologies, including AWS Technologies
• Familiarity with DELL EMC Technologies and Dell Technologies
• Proficient in AB Testing and Automation strategies
• Experience in using Active Directory
• Knowledge of Backup Technologies
• Experience working with Vmware Infrastructure
• Familiarity with Patching and System Patching procedures
• Proficiency in managing and maintaining Microsoft Exchange Server
• Ability to work in a non-profit environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proven ability to solve complex system issues
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is desirable.
