Description
We are searching for a detail-oriented Tax Staff Accountant to join our large CPA firm in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation of federal and multi-state income tax returns, handling tax work papers, and corresponding with tax authorities. You will also assist with tax research and uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct. This will also be hybrid role after training.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and review federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
• Work closely with high-net-worth individuals, large family groups, and family offices to manage tax work papers for their businesses, investments, and estate planning entities.
• Draft responses to governmental queries, notes, or mandates and handle IRS inquiries.
• Conduct tax research and understand client tax issues and situations.
• Assist in maintaining accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently.
• Prepare tax accounting adjustments and financial statements.
• Identify and recommend tax strategies to enhance client’s understanding of tax law.
• Assist other team members with tax responsibilities as needed.
• Use software tools such as CCH ProSystem Fx, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, SAP S/4HANA for efficient tax processing and reporting.
• Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven knowledge and expertise in Corporate Income Tax and Corporate Tax Compliance.
• Familiarity with tax software such as CCH ProSystem Fx is a must.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA would be an advantage.
• Strong skills in Ad Hoc Reporting.
• Demonstrated understanding of Compliance and Compliance Audit procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
