Description
Jackie Meza with Robert Half is seeking an Assistant Controller to join a dynamic team. The Assistant Controller will be integral in supporting all aspects of financial management and will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our Accounting Department. Responsibilities:
• Support all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, and budget preparation.
• Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring efficient and effective performance.
• Assist in the preparation of financial status reports for review and decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller in financial planning, policy development, and reviewing accounting practices.
• Utilize various accounting software systems, including Sage Timberline and ADP, to maintain accurate financial records.
• Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, as well as auditing procedures.
• Handle billing functions and monitor customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data.
• Multi-task effectively and work under strict deadlines, managing the challenges of working across multiple entities.
Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential
• Familiarity with a range of Accounting Functions
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Auditing skills are a must
• Experience in Billing Functions is required
• Proficiency in Sage Timberline software
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in the construction/contractor industry is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
