Description
A current opening through Robert Half, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller/Finance Manager to join the team at a prominent services company. The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and finance department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, lead financial reporting, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Responsibilities
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Requirements - Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong familiarity with budget forecasting
Expertise in cash flow management
Solid understanding of financial reporting
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
CPA/MBA preferred
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
