Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Louisville, Kentucky

Description We are in search of a talented Sr. Accountant to join our team in LOUISVILLE, Kentucky. In this role, you will be tasked with managing a team of Staff Accountants, ensuring the timely delivery of monthly financial packages, and analyzing data to make recommendations to our broader accounting team. This role is within a dynamic and fast-paced industry and requires a candidate who can manage multiple responsibilities and thrive in such an environment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of Staff Accountants, providing training and development as necessary

• Ensure the timely delivery of monthly financial packages to the ownership group

• Handle monthly owner and department reporting

• Analyze data and make recommendations to the broader accounting team

• Maintain consistent communication with accounting leadership regarding team status and challenges

• Produce ad hoc reports as requested

• Develop budget and forecast planning tools

• Coordinate and support process improvement for daily, weekly, and monthly corporate accounting responsibilities

• Utilize advanced Excel knowledge and proficiency in accounting systems to manage and create analytical reports from source and transaction data

• Handle account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and journal entries as part of monthly close processes

• Utilize MS Great Plains Accounting and MS Great Plains Dynamics for various accounting tasks. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Sr. Accountant role or similar position

• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Demonstrated experience with general ledger management and journal entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with MS Great Plains Accounting and MS Great Plains Dynamics is a plus

• Extensive experience with month-end close procedures

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Must adhere to strict confidentiality and data protection policies.
