Robert Half Staff Accountant in Louisville, Kentucky

Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant with 1-3 years of experience in the real estate or property management industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.

  • Prepare and review bank reconciliations.

  • Collaborate with property managers and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting

  • Providing quarterly semi-annual, and annual CAM charge summaries to tenants and customers; managing the CAM ledger accurately and responding to related inquiries.

  • Taking charge of payment and allocation of related property taxes to portfolio’s tenants and clients.

  • Determining entity-level responsibility for related annual insurance costs.

  • Assisting with general office administrative duties, including but not limited to answering phones and ordering supplies.

  • Ensuring a service-centric mindset, maintaining good communication skills (written & verbal), and treating proprietary information confidentially.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience in the real estate/property management industry.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, Timberline, QuickBooks, MRI) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Job costing experience highly preferred.
