Robert Half Accountant, Retail, Inventory Accounting in Loveland, Colorado

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Loveland, Colorado. The role will primarily focus on retail inventory accounting within a telecom provider. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing gross margins, inventory, and cost accounting reports, working with various individuals to resolve any exceptions or issues, and ensuring accurate reporting of margins and inventory transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze daily gross margin and inventory reports for one region of the company.

• Collaborate with Branch Managers and Branch personnel to ensure accurate reporting of margins and inventory transactions.

• Assist Regional Finance Managers and Analysts in researching any inventory transactions resulting in questionable margins or inventory levels.

• Complete monthly reports to ensure proper internal controls over inventory transactions.

• Conduct validity checks before posting inventory adjustments submitted by the branches.

• Assist Division personnel with consignment inventory contracts.

• Support Division personnel with required yearly physical counts of inventory at each branch.

• Perform accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliation, and transactional review.

• Lead special projects and other duties as assigned by Inventory Supervisors, Operations Accounting Sr. Manager, or other Operations Accounting Management.

• Possess the ability to travel for attendance at Regional/Divisional Meetings, visits to Branches, and attendance at inventory counts/recounts. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer skills

• Extensive experience in financial reporting, operations, and planning

• Proven ability in reviewing and understanding contracts

• Knowledge of finance and accounting principles

• Familiarity with hiring processes and best practices

• Strong ability to perform reconciliations and check processing

• Experience in retail accounting or similar industry

• In-depth understanding of account reconciliation procedures

• Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries

• Willingness to travel as required by the role

• Proven record of regular attendance and punctuality

• Strong research analysis skills

• Ability to make necessary adjustments and internal control measures

• Proficiency in variance analysis

• Experience leading special projects

• Understanding of 'About Time' timekeeping software and 'Go' programming language

• Ability to work with different business units within the organization.
