Description Robert Half is looking for an ambitious, eager Controller to join the team at an well-respected services company. The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Major responsibilities

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

  • Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed Requirements - Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Strong familiarity with Controllership

  • Experience with Conduct Audits

  • Controllership Functions experience preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation

  • Month end closings experience preferred

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • High attention to detail

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
