Robert Half Staff Accountant in Machias, Maine
Description Robert Half has partnered with an established organization in search of a Staff Accountant. This is a newly created Staff Accountant position and in this role you will be responsible month end accounting, overseeing AP/AR and Payroll and assisting the CPA for audits. Candidates interested in this Staff Accountant role should have 5 years accounting experience, be proficient with QuickBooks and have a high attention to detail. Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
ERP system experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Proficiency in payroll systems for 100-500 employees
Knowledge of month end closings
QuickBooks experience
Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Foundational knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP)
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
