Robert Half Assistant Corporate Controller in Madison Heights, Michigan
Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Corporate Controller in Troy, Michigan. This role involves leading corporate consolidations, preparing financial statements and reports, supervising senior accountants, and updating accounting policies and procedures. The Assistant Corporate Controller will also handle debt reporting, cash flow forecasting, and general ledger maintenance.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the corporate consolidation for monthly and yearly close processes.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements and reporting packages, including balance sheet, income statements, and cash flow analysis.
• Supervise two senior accountants and ensure their tasks align with the company's accounting objectives.
• Update accounting policies and procedures and serve as a key resource for technical accounting questions/issues.
• Manage debt reporting, including the calculation of covenant ratios and quarterly submissions.
• Forecast cash flow and manage respective working capital targets.
• Post journal entries in connection with the month-end process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain the general ledger and related chart of accounts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements and improve processes for efficiency.
• Serve as the main point of contact with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and schedules for year-end audit and interim reviews.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
CPA Designation
10+ years of experience, preferably with mix of public accounting and manufacturing experience in Consumer Packaged Goods
Proficient user of Microsoft office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel);
Prior experience with M& A and ERP integration strongly preferred
