Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Madison, Indiana

Description We are searching for a meticulous and experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team. This role involves reconciling and managing all non-payroll related company tax obligations, tracking fixed assets, preparing financial statements, and ensuring SOX compliance in all finance duties. The position is based in Madison, Indiana.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and reconcile all non-payroll related company tax obligations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws.

• Handle sales/COGS reconciliation and other various reconciliations related to accrual accounting.

• Track Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and manage fixed assets and depreciation.

• Prepare comprehensive financial statements and contribution margin reporting.

• Oversee the management of patent and trademark records and related accounting tasks.

• Prepare for audits, tax preparation, and 1099 reporting.

• Register and notify insurance of vehicle purchases as necessary.

• Conduct standard and actual manufacturing cost calculation and reporting.

• Calculate and report on standard cost variances.

• Oversee cycle count accuracy and reporting.

• Ensure SOX compliance in all finance duties.

• Provide backup for other general accountant positions when necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Experience with general ledger management and creating journal entries

• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel

• Prior experience in conducting month-end close procedures

• Knowledge and experience in using NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
