Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bilingual (English and Spanish) HR Generalist in the greater Madison, Wisconsin area. The role is primarily responsible for coordinating recruitment, maintaining compliance with legal regulations, and managing employee relations. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, managing effective communication, and performing additional HR functions as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate recruitment activities, including identifying recruitment sources, evaluating candidates, conducting interviews, and extending offers of employment

• Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations applicable to human resources

• Assist with workers’ compensation and OSHA compliance programs, monitor progress of employees with claims

• Maintain accurate and confidential human resources related records

• Assist with all Human Resource functions including answering HR questions, benefit enrollment, entering and processing new hires, changes, and termination information

• Manage communication with the union and respond to union grievances

• Assist with learning and development for all employees, ensuring completion of assigned courses

• Maintain accurate employee information in HRIS system

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

• Continuously update professional and technical knowledge in areas of responsibility.

Requirements • Proficiency in UKG Pro HRMS software

• Fluency in spoken and written Spanish language

• Expertise in handling various benefit functions

• Excellent communication skills for effective employee relations

• Knowledge of FMLA and other compliance regulations

• Experience in corporate recruiting

• Proven track record of maintaining a positive work environment

• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

• Knowledge of HR laws and regulations

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

• Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
