Robert Half Office Manager in Madison, Wisconsin


We have a client currently in need of a success-driven Office Manager. You will supervise the financial statement preparation, audit, full cycle A/P, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and cash flow as the Full Charge Bookkeeper. The Office Manager can also be responsible for the clerical staff. If you are a self-driven and organized accounting professional who thrives under tight deadlines with minimal supervision this could be the Office Manager role for you! This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Madison, Wisconsin area.


  • Get ready subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

  • Manage sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

  • Knowledgeable with Accounts Receivable

  • Keep Accounts Payable up to date

  • Capable in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Operate monthly accounting close

  • Outline business license and gross receipts

  • Other unique projects when they come up

  • Note budget transfers

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Create cash flow projections, as needed

  • Execute cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

    Requirements - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

  • Proven knowledge of account reconciliation

  • General familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Well-founded grasp of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • NetSuite experience preferred

  • Month-end Journal Entries experience

  • Foundational knowledge in Journal Entry Preparation

  • Strong familiarity with journal entries

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred

  • High attention to detail

    • Crucial accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

    • 5+ years of related experience
