Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Consumer Products industry team located in Mahwah, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of innovative small kitchen appliances and will work closely with various teams to translate conceptual ideas into feasible mechanical designs. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for problem-solving and an understanding of how things work.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and validate new products or modifications to existing products in the lines of small kitchen appliances.
Validate designs through prototyping and testing, investigating, analyzing, and researching any quality issues to determine effective solutions.
Collaborate closely with Industrial Designers and Manufacturing Engineers to translate conceptual ideas into feasible mechanical designs, considering aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
Work in conjunction with Project Managers and overseas manufacturers to drive deliverables and timelines.
Produce professional engineering documentation such as engineering specifications, assembly drawings, engineering test specifications and reports, ECOs, ECNs, etc.
Perform professional engineering analysis such as stress, tolerance, FEA, DFMA, product safety, and root-cause analysis.
Utilize skills in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, Cisco Technologies, Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Design, Eigrp, Firewall Technologies, and Mechanical Engineering.
Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or in a similar role within the Consumer Products industry.
• Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and Cisco Routers.
• Extensive knowledge of Cisco Technologies and Computer Hardware.
• Experience in Configuration Management and Design.
• Familiarity with Eigrp and Firewall Technologies.
• Background in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
• Proven track record of managing and completing projects to a high standard.
• Relevant certifications in networking or related field would be advantageous.
