Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Manassas, Virginia. This role involves managing a variety of accounting functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and reconciliations. The successful candidate will also be proficient with Sage 300 and be comfortable handling both accounts receivable and payable.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee payroll functions ensuring timely and accurate processing.

• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) activities, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

• Utilize Sage 300 software for various accounting tasks.

• Conduct regular reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.

• Maintain accurate and complete financial records.

• Actively participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Prepare detailed reports on accounting matters for presentation to management.

• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies. Requirements • Must possess extensive knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven experience in managing Payroll is essential

• Proficiency in performing Reconciliations is required

• Familiarity with Sage 300 accounting software is a must

• The candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

• Superior organizational skills to manage large volumes of financial data

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must adhere to strict confidentiality in regard to financial data

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus

• Experience in a leadership role is preferred
