Robert Half Office Manager/Bookkeeper in Manassas, Virginia

Description Our client is in current pursuit for a qualified Full Charge Bookkeeper. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will control payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, and full cycle A/P. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will also supervise the clerical staff. We are looking for an accounting professional who is able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision and is self-driven and organized. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Manassas, Virginia area.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain Accounts Payable

  • Create cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

  • Report business license and gross receipts

  • Proficient in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Assemble sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

  • Record budget transfers

  • Form monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Supplementary assignments when necessary

  • Supervise monthly accounting close

  • Familiar with Accounts Receivable

  • Assemble cash flow projections, as needed

  • Prepare subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement Requirements

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

    • Relevant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

    • 3+ years of related experience- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Expertise in Weekly Account Payable

  • Foundational knowledge in Annual Financial Reporting

  • Strong familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Solid understanding of QuickBooks

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, strong analytical and communication skills as well

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
