Great firm for the recent graduate (will train) wanting a different experience than those large firms that treat you like a number OR existing tax accountant ready for a small firm and partnership track!!
Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Tax Accountant. The Tax Accountant will work with financial and income tax statements, making sure that they comply with tax laws by filing their federal and state tax returns. This is the role for a deadline driven Tax Accountant with excellent attention to detail and organization.
Responsibilities
Make sure that clients comply with federal, state and local tax regulations
Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work
Determine legal tax savings and generate ways to improve profits
Accurately assemble annual and quarterly tax reports
Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
Manage the company's tax database and put together tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, and reports
Requirements - Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
Excellent organizational skills
Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting or relevant field required
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
CPA highly preferred
2+ years of public or corporate tax
Must have strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking
