Robert Half Global Trade & Customs Manager in MANHEIM, Pennsylvania
Robert Half is partnering with a Lancaster County organization for a Trade and Customs Manager. This role will drive ongoing continuous improvement in design and processes to meet compliance metrics and engagement with all business functions impacted by trade compliance requirements. Additionally, the role will assist in planning and designing compliance audit programs and developing and strategizing the alignment of Trade related compliance requisite programs.
Responsibilities will include:
Develop and implement processes, policies, and technical solutions aligned with the global trade strategy and business objectives
Drives resolution of trade compliance matters of concern.
Conducts ITAR jurisdiction and classification reviews of hardware, software, and technical data.
Manages the product classification process as it relates to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and country of origin for both import and export.
Manages and/or selects customs brokers including measuring service-level agreement (SLA) adherence by conducting sample audits of broker submissions, and compile and manage compliance scorecards.
Ensures compliance with all trade regulatory requirements, domestically and internationally.
Identifies risks related to anti-corruption and trade controls
Supports the company’s strategy for export control, with emphasis on company- wide compliance with export control regulations (e.g., Global Trade & Customs Manager
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Statistical Regulations).
Provides overall management responsibility for the Global & Custom Compliance (GTC) function.
Develops, implements, and assesses strategic initiatives for all policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all U.S. government Department of State and Department of Commerce export, In-country policies and import regulations
Refines Programs as part of a continuous improvement cycle, ensuring that processes are effective, efficient & business focused.
Oversees efforts to conduct self-audits and ensures that the groups are prepared for regular internal export compliance audits
Administers compliance training for the Business Unit and records and reports as appropriate/required.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in Logistics, International Trade or Accounting
5+ years of experience with export/import compliance and trade controls
5+ years’ work experience in areas of Trade Compliance, NAFTA, including strong emphases on import and export compliance useful •
Previous managerial/supervisory experience is preferred.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office and ERP system experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Flexible and able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
