Description
Job Title: Cost Accountant (Contract to Hire)
We currently have an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity for a Cost Accountant. In this role, the successful candidate will be tasked with the duty of performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports. We are seeking an individual who is analytical, detail-oriented, possesses strong math skills, and has a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
Accumulate and analyze relevant cost data.
Develop accurate cost standards and operational benchmarks.
Partner with various teams to create budgets and forecasts.
Evaluate production costs, gains/losses, and monthly expenses.
Review actual costs and prepare periodic reports comparing budget costs to actual.
Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
Maintain Cost Accounting System and conduct audits to ensure cost data is allocated correctly.
Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or similar role.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and other accounting software packages.
