Robert Half International Member Services Representative in Marana, Arizona


Our client, Hughes Federal Credit Union, is looking for Member Services Representatives to assist members and potential members with their financial needs. Explains services which meet member financial needs, sets up new accounts, respond to problems, direct members to the appropriate personnel, and prepares loan documents. May have lending authority as assigned.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

(E) Essential or (N) Nonessential

50% - Assists members with opening and closing accounts, may underwrite consumer loans up to the amount assigned per Credit Union policy. Answers questions about products and services and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations.

20% - Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sells services to members.

15% - Assures that appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared including compilation and assembly of loan documents into files for record keeping.

5% - Processes and inputs data on the computer system.

5% - Acts as liaison between members and various organizations and departments.

5% - Performs other duties as assigned.


  1. To provide accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members and other employees.

  2. To assist members waiting in the lobby in a timely manner.

  3. To respond to all correspondence in a timely manner.

  4. To wait on a proportionate number of members based on branch volume.

  5. To respond to all telephone messages in a timely manner.

  6. To process member transactions within credit union standards.

  7. Should score an average 6.0 or higher on quarterly quality service loop surveys

  8. To assist the branch in achieving an internal service survey score of 4.25 or greater.

  9. Meet assigned sales goals and service standards.

Experience: Minimum of six months to two years of similar or related experience.

Education: Equivalent to a high school education.

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization that requires discretion to protect the privacy and confidentiality of the Credit Union and its members.

Other Skills: Able to operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter and computer keyboard.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to speak clearly, hear and able to travel to other locations.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Mental Demands: The mental demands necessary to competently perform this job include the continuous need to be alert and resourceful in solving problems; and to exercise a degree of patience and initiative in performing the job duties.
