Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Marietta, Ohio. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities, from reconciling financial statements to assisting with budget preparation, as well as supervising the accounting staff and managing plant costs.
Responsibilities:
• Managing and analyzing plant costs, including production, inventory, and labor costs.
• Assisting with budget preparation and preparing monthly budget variance analyses.
• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances.
• Preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assessing and implementing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules.
• Preparing plant-specific financial reports and performance metrics to support plant management.
• Collaborating with plant management to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Overseeing inventory accounting and cost allocation related to plant operations.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations; collaborating with auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
• Preparing tax filings and ensuring timely submission.
• Supervising and mentoring accounting staff.
• Assisting with custom solution sales and handling complex projects as needed.
• Implementing and monitoring internal controls specific to plant operations and cost management. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of four years of accounting experience, with experience in a manufacturing or plant environment preferred.
CPA is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems such as Sage, SAP, or QuickBooks.
Strong understanding of accounting functions, cost accounting, tax accounting, and auditing. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
High degree of accuracy in work and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience with spreadsheets and advanced Excel functions. Strong background in tax accounting and auditing. Experience in preparing quarterly financial reports.
