Description
Our client, a small company with a large footprint, is hiring an DIRECTOR OF FINANCE to backfill an internal promotion!!! This DIRECTOR OF FINANCE must spend their time in the business, approving and reviewing things but also spend 25% of the time being strategic and leading people.
The Finance Director is responsible for directing teams that provide accounting and finance services in support of the organization's business objectives. This role will lead managers who oversee the accounting close process, account reconciliations, monthly analysis, forecasting as well as the annual budgeting process for assigned areas of responsibility. The Finance Director will lead business transaction processing teams in areas such as cost accounting, customer financing, banking operations, inventory, disbursements and property, plant and equipment in compliance with corporate accounting policies and internal control requirements.
The “home run” for this hire will be able to make the connection from prior organizations to what this company is doing - interpersonal, process and system wise. Full P & L as well as Balance Sheet experience required; not just counting the product that comes in and goes out the door. The person who can understand the “what” and “why” they are doing and how it fits.
Minimum requirements include 12+ years of progressive accounting experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred! Candidate must have a "can do" attitude and cultural fit to win the role along with manufacturing experience!!! To $150K DOE
Requirements - Experience with US GAAP
Proven knowledge of cost of product development
Quality experience with general ledger
Well-founded grasp of month end closings
Financial analysis experience
General familiarity with business process re-engineering
Year end closings experience
Journal entries experience desired
Wide ranging experience with J.D. Edwards
Proficiency in financial statement preparation
Practical knowledge of financial reporting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
5+ years of recent relevant financial experience
Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities
Customer service oriented communication skills
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Excellent problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
