Robert Half Accounting Manager in Matthews, North Carolina

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the retail industry. The role is based in Matthews, North Carolina, and will require the successful candidate to work onsite. As an Accounting Manager, you will take on a wide range of responsibilities, including handling project management, leading a team, and performing various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team, ensuring all tasks and projects are completed efficiently and effectively.

• Perform full-cycle payroll accounting, including tax accrual, reporting, garnishment reporting, and account reconciliation.

• Collaborate with various departments such as Payroll, Banking, Sales Audit, and Inventory accounting to provide reconciliation support, review, preparation, and approval.

• Process and calculate payroll tax accruals and post journal entries.

• Research transactions prior to the closing of the accounting period to ensure accurate results.

• Conduct audits on vendor billing and provide reports to business leaders.

• Utilize personal computers software and mainframe systems to access data and compile management reports, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Analyze complex information, collecting and researching data, using intuition and experience to complement data.

• Prepare and approve weekly and periodic journal entries for Accounts Receivables.

• Assist in the period close process as required to close Accounting.

• Demonstrate competency in designing workflows and procedures, with a keen attention to detail. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Functions is mandatory

• Experience in Account Reconciliation is required

• Familiarity with Project Management is a requisite

• Expertise in Full Cycle Payroll is expected

• Knowledge of Payroll processes is mandatory

• Understanding of Payroll Taxes is essential
