Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Mchenry, Illinois

Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in McHenry, Illinois. This role involves detailed financial management, including preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries, as well as analyzing and reconciling financial discrepancies. You will also be expected to contribute to team efforts, collaborate with external accountants, and maintain customer confidence by keeping financial information confidential.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information

• Document financial transactions accurately and consistently

• Analyze accounting options and recommend financial actions

• Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports

• Audit documents to substantiate financial transactions

• Prepare and recommend accounting policies and procedures

• Secure financial information by completing database backups

• Verify documentation and prepare payments as required

• Respond to accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policies and regulations

• Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions

• Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends

• Review and update Account Receivable data, and collaborate with Sales on collection issues

• Work with an outside accountant and tax bureau on monthly, quarterly, and yearly taxation filings. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA certification is preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Strong time management and organizational skills.
