Robert Half Project Accountant or Senior Project Accountan in Mckinney, Texas
Description Do you have an accounting background and a desire to join a Construction/Contractor firm? Robert Half could have the Senior Accountant role for you! This role handles financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities in this role
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations Requirements - Strong time management skills preferred
Proficient in ERP systems
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Full Cycle Accounting experience desired
Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
Deep understanding of Job Cost
Experience with Microsoft Word
Adeptness in Microsoft Outlook
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
