Robert Half Entry-Level Software Quality Analyst in Mclean, Virginia
Description
We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a remote Quality Assurance Analyst in McLean, Virginia. The role involves the analysis and testing of software to ensure the alignment of products with design specifications and quality standards. This position will be an integral part of our software development life cycle and is geared towards individuals adept at technical support, software development, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and execute product testing strategies, including manual testing and automation framework advisement.
Execute and coordinate automation test strategies, identifying automation opportunities within the testing process.
Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure products meet expected quality standards.
Influence testability during the design and development phases.
Conduct comprehensive testing across all phases of product lifecycle.
Perform specialized testing such as API testing using Postman and Insomnia, accessibility testing, regression testing, cross-browser testing, and feature-specific testing.
Participate in the design of automated test scripts and ensure adherence to quality processes and standards, including bug identification and quality issue reporting.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
A problem-solver who delivers automated solutions for software processes and collaborates closely with teams to identify and resolve issues.
Experience installing applications and databases for automation.
Proficiency in Postman, executing automated tests, and using test management tools like JIRA.
Background in both manual and automated testing, with exposure to accessibility testing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Five (5) years of professional experience in technology or a related field.
Knowledge of GraphQL and troubleshooting tools like web browser Developer Tools, Charles Proxy, and Postman.
Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Desirable Skills:
Educational background: Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, or High School Degree/GED with 3+ years of Technology-related experience.
Experience with content management systems/tools.
One to two years of experience in automation.
