Robert Half Information Security Architect in Mclean, Virginia

Description

This is a hybrid role, only candidates who currently reside in the Addison, TX / Memphis, TN / or McLean, VA areas will be considered. Are you an experienced Information Security Architect looking for a new challenge? As an Information Security Architect, you will collaborate closely with application teams to implement tailored security solutions addressing specific organizational risks. Your role will be pivotal in driving secure practices across our global organization, ensuring the resilience and integrity of customer and enterprise applications, as well as leading cybersecurity initiatives for critical platforms. You will also oversee compliance with policies and standards throughout the end-to-end SDLC project lifecycle.

Schedule: Hybrid, 2-3 days per week in the office, rest remote.

Position Summary:

In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining controls that support the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant operation of our organization. You will guide others in applying information security policies and standards to mitigate risks, working closely with Information Security and Legal Compliance teams. Key responsibilities include:

Developing advanced security solutions aligned with stakeholder requirements, ensuring scalability, availability, and adherence to architecture models.

Creating and maintaining security architecture strategies, standards, and guidelines to safeguard information assets.

Evaluating existing application security practices, defining security-related activities, and driving improvements to the application assurance program.

Leading technology evaluations and guiding the adoption of architecture and development standards.

Participating in governance processes associated with application security and technology standards.

Utilizing coding languages or scripting methodologies to develop custom workflows.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of technologies such as Atlassian Stack, Node.js, React, Relay, GraphQL, and NoSQL databases like Couchbase.

  • Experience with AWS Cloud environment and cloud security concepts.

  • Proficiency in reviewing application design, software frameworks, and infrastructure to identify issues.

  • Familiarity with static and dynamic code scan tools (e.g., Fortify, Checkmarx, Burp, Qualys).

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Git, Jira, GitLab, or Jenkins.

  • Familiarity with container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes.

  • At least three years of experience with public clouds like AWS, Azure, GCP, or Alicloud.

  • Experience developing and authoring application security architectures, standards, and guidelines.

  • Ability to communicate application security requirements and risks to IT teams and business partners.

  • Experience with DevSecOps and integrating security tools into CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience with AWS/Azure Cloud design and architecture (e.g., SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).

  • Certification in CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).

Minimum Education:

  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 5 years combined with exposure to product development and web development on J2EE platforms or alternate technology stacks.

  • 3 years of experience with AWS Cloud technologies or alternate public cloud providers.

  • 3 years of experience in product development and web development on J2EE platforms or alternate technology stacks.
