Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. This role plays a pivotal part in overseeing the daily operations of our accounting department, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and profitability. As part of our team, you will be expected to review and manage billing, oversee collections, manage staff, and work closely with other departments to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager will include:
• Oversee the daily activities of the accounting department.
• Review billing for accuracy and assess profitability.
• Oversee collections activity and involve other departments as needed.
• Oversee accounts payable to ensure accurate coding of vendor invoices.
• Process job cost invoicing.
• Prepare monthly percentage of completion reports.
• Analyze closed jobs for profitability.
• Perform account reconciliations at the end of each month.
• Review processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Review intercompany transactions.
• Prepare Sales Tax returns in multiple states.
• Process commission reports for the sales department.
• Maintain a fixed asset database for depreciation reports.
• Support other department managers with accounting-related functions.
• Work with Controller to ensure month-end financial statements are completed timely.
• Assist in accounting projects or perform other duties as required to support the Controller.
Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in an Accounting with prior management experience preferred
• Experience with Job Cost accounting and/or construction industry experience is required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent experience
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
