Robert Half Staff Accountant in Melbourne, Florida

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Manufacturing industry, based in Melbourne, Florida. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.

Responsibilities:

• Aid in the completion of monthly, quarterly and annual financial close activities

• Conduct bank statement reconciliations

• Oversee and report on daily and weekly revenue along with other key metrics

• Assist in the maintenance and reporting of time-keeping

• Support the Accounts Payable team as necessary, which may include vouching vendor invoices and processing check runs

• Perform balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations

• Prepare and input journal entries

• Ensure all subledgers balance with the general ledger

• Monitor and track non-recurring customer expenditures to ensure alignment with quotes

• Provide analysis and support for weekly customer-specific revenue and cost of goods reporting

• Track fixed assets and conduct price audits

• Assist in annual physical inventory

• Ensure the accuracy and quality of the company's general ledger

• Track and post prepaid expenses

• Aid in controlling expenditures

• Adhere to all corporate financial policies, procedures and guidelines

• Monitor established internal controls for compliance

• Assist with daily activities in the finance department

• Understand and follow all applicable ISO and job-specific procedures

• Maintain cleanliness of work area and surrounding workspace

• Undertake other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business. Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Bank Reconciliations

• Strong knowledge in General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to create and maintain Journal Entries

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with Inventory Controls in the manufacturing industry

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of manufacturing industry accounting standards and regulations

• Commitment to continuous learning and development in the field of accounting.
