Description
We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Controller in the Construction/Contractor industry. The interim Controller will be instrumental in managing and supervising all aspects of the company's accounting functions. The role involves a wide range of tasks including project accounting, liaising with external auditors, insurance providers, and banks, and managing the monthly close process.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Coordinate and complete annual audits
• Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
• Meet financial accounting objectives
• Work closely with the project management team to understand and manage project costs
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project contracts and subcontractor agreements
• Utilize accounting software systems and ERP solutions to efficiently manage financial data
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Conduct regular audits and liaise with external auditors
• Handle budgeting processes and construction accounting tasks
• Leverage QuickBooks for various accounting functions.
Requirements • Proficient with Accounting Software Systems
• Knowledgeable in ERP Solutions
• Ability to handle all Accounting Functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Expertise in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Has a strong background in Auditing
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Experience in Construction Accounting
• Proficient in using QuickBooks
