Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Melville, New York

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in MELVILLE, New York. This role involves overseeing various accounting operations in the telecom industry. You will be tasked with managing the company's general ledger, performing complex accrual calculations, and conducting month-end financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.

• Manage the General Ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.

• Conduct complex accrual calculations to provide accurate financial forecasting.

• Perform comprehensive financial analysis at the end of each month, contributing to business strategy and decision-making.

• Conduct inventory reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Use Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data.

• Facilitate the Month End Close process, ensuring all financial data is accounted for and reported accurately.

• Utilize software applications such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to manage financial data and operations. Requirements • Must possess proficiency in account reconciliation

• Competency in balance sheet reconciliation is required

• Experience in bank reconciliations is necessary

• Proficiency in the use of general ledger is essential

• Must have experience in creating and maintaining journal entries

• Knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel is required

• Must have experience in month end close processes

• Proficiency in using NetSuite and Oracle is a must

• Should be well-versed in SAP

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters of financial reporting

• Should demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy.
