Description
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for supporting the timely and accurate collection of outstanding customer invoices. This role involves a variety of tasks related to the accounts receivable process, including data entry, customer communication, and account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process incoming customer payments, including checks, credit card payments, and electronic funds transfers.
Enter customer invoices and credit memos into the accounting system.
Research and resolve customer billing inquiries.
Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to follow up on overdue payments.
Prepare and maintain customer account records.
Prepare and distribute customer statements.
Assist with the month-end closing process, including account reconciliations.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in customer accounts.
Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related field.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
