Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Memphis, Tennessee
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is centered around providing financial, administrative, and clerical services within our team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will engage in various tasks ranging from data entry to invoice processing, while working closely with other departments to ensure accuracy in all financial records.
Responsibilities:
• Undertake high volume data entry tasks for payment applications and vendor invoices
• Collaborate with other departments to research discrepancies and ensure prompt resolution
• Respond to vendor inquiries on a regular basis
• Provide support to our branch offices and maintain close collaboration with the Accounting Supervisor and staff accountants
• Ensure all financial activity is accurately recorded in the system
• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reports and reconciliations
• Review accounts payable reports for accuracy and precision
• Perform administrative duties including filing, scanning, and data entry
• Support other areas of the business as needed
• Resolve arising issues quickly and effectively. Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation
• Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with billing procedures
• Proficient in data entry tasks
• Experience in invoice processing
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Oracle software
• Familiarity with QuickBooks software
• Knowledge and experience with SAP software
• Ability to maintain professionalism and adhere to ethical standards
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Relevant work experience in an accounting role.
