Robert Half Accounting Manager in Memphis, Tennessee


This Accounting Manager role is a great opportunity if you are a self-driven and organized accounting professional who thrives under tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. The Accounting Manager will control payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, and full cycle A/P. What you get to do every single day

  • Lead Accounts Receivable

  • Report on business license and gross receipts

  • Govern monthly accounting close

  • Additional special projects if necessary

  • Create cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

  • Credit Card management and reconciliation

  • Supply cash flow projections, as needed

  • Ready subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

  • Look after Accounts Payable

  • Plan monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Register budget transfers

  • Maintain sales tax records and creates and files quarterly payments

    Requirements - Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

    • 5+ years of related experience- Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills
  • Strong organization skills

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required

  • Solid understanding of financial statement preparation

  • Proven knowledge of Quickbooks Online

  • Experience with journal entries

  • Deep understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Full Cycle Payroll experience

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

    • Notable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
